Fidan Meets Hamas Delegation on Gaza Peace Plan

(MENAFN) On Wednesday, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held talks in Ankara with a Hamas delegation led by Khalil al-Hayya, a member of the group’s Political Bureau, according to the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

During the discussions, Fidan and the delegation reviewed the latest developments in Gaza and exchanged views on the second phase of the Gaza peace plan.

Fidan stressed that Türkiye continues to uphold the rights of Palestinians “in the strongest manner on every platform,” while briefing the delegation on Türkiye’s ongoing initiatives to meet housing needs and deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The Hamas representatives, meanwhile, asserted that they had complied with the ceasefire terms, but accused Israel of persisting in attacks against Gaza and its population. They argued that such actions are intended to block progress toward phase two of the peace plan.

The delegation also highlighted that 60% of trucks allowed into Gaza are carrying commercial goods rather than aid, noting that humanitarian supplies remain insufficient to meet urgent needs.

They pointed to continuing shortages of essential items, including food, medicine, shelter materials, and fuel.
