US Envoy Steve Witkoff Set to Visit Israel for Iran, Gaza Talks
According to a public broadcaster, Witkoff will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other senior officials to review US negotiations with Iran and the second phase of Trump’s Gaza plan. Army Radio, citing senior Israeli sources, reported that Witkoff is likely to arrive on Tuesday.
The envoy is expected to hold meetings with Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz, and senior military officials, including Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, according to a senior security source.
Neither Netanyahu’s office nor the US administration has officially confirmed the visit or a precise date.
The visit comes as the US increases its military presence in the Middle East and Trump has warned of possible action against Iran. Regional efforts led by Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt aim to encourage negotiations between Washington and Tehran to avoid a wider confrontation.
Israeli analysts have noted growing concern in Israel over indications that the US may favor a political resolution with Iran, emphasizing that any agreement should address not only Tehran’s nuclear program but also its missile capabilities.
